Speaker: Peter Kersten

Speaker’s Biography:

Peter earned his JD from Marquette University Law School in 2005, went
into private practice and then entered the trust field.  After three years,
he entered library school and also worked part-time as a reference
librarian at Marquette Law and at a litigation boutique firm in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin.  He received his MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
in 2011 and joined the University Of Denver Law Library in October, 2012.

Description of the talk:

This session will focus on some of the practical and legal issues to
consider before getting into licensing electronic content for your
library.  We will discuss tips on negotiating good licenses, ways to avoid
problems, and the effects licenses can have on your library as well as the
end-user, which includes legal and patron use issues.
